Radioprotection

The materials used for the protection from fixed, mobile radiation or clothing (gloves, aprons…) must be controlled periodically in order to be considered suitable for the pre-fixed use.

Use ambit

Radioprotection materials can be used anywhere there is a source of radiation. Their main use is surely in the medical environment (radiology and nuclear medicine).

Calibration and certification

The Comecer Calibration Centre can measure the degree of shielding of the materials, supplying the equivalent value in lead.
A Comecer Calibration Centre report is issued successively.

Recommended times

Comecer recommends periodic reading of the radioprotection materials at least once a year.
